Killarumiyoq, Cusco Dept.

An hour drive outside Cusco City is the edenic site of Killarumiyoq, near 12,500', a relatively unknown pre-Columbian ruin. Nestled into a lush watershed fed by glacial snowmelt. We are joined by one of the living descendents of the Inca royalty, don Augustine, a master Q’ero ritualist, who performs an elaborate and beautiful ceremonial earth offering, or despacho, our behalf. Each person plays a role in co-creating the offering. This helps solidify our experience of the Andean concept of Ayni; sacred reciprocity, and offers further insight into important cosmological concepts of Andean culture.
